Hello! My name is Jeremy Nelson, and I’m the new community coordinator for the city of Arthur. I have to first give a huge thank you to JJ Degerness for her dedication to this position for the past five years. She has a big heart for this community and loves to create events for everyone to enjoy. Make sure to give JJ a hearty ‘thank you’ the next time you see her, or drop her a note of appreciation.
I was born and raised in Northfield, MN, about an hour south of Minneapolis. I hold a BA in education from Bethel University in St. Paul, and an MA in educational leadership from MSUM. I have been a high school history teacher for 20 years, entering my 14th year at Park Christian School in Moorhead. I currently serve on the Arthur Park Board, as the lay leader at Arthur UMC, and you may have seen me around town mowing for the city during the last few summers.
I have been married to my better half, Amanda, for almost 17 years; she works in radio broadcasting in Fargo. We have four kids: Genevieve (15), Isaiah (13), Beckett (7), and Wren (5). We moved to Arthur in March of 2017, and I am very excited to serve in this new role, and look forward to creating opportunities for the
community to come together.
